As pet owners, we want our canine friends to be to be happy in our company and in their life. Health is a significant portion of a dog’s happiness, and there is quite a bit you can do to increase your furry friend’s overall life happiness. There are some basic things that you can do to structure his life to increase his comfort, and then there are a bit more advanced things you can do to add to his happiness.

55. Keep obesity at bay

We know that excess weight isn’t good for us, but it also is not good for your dog. Obesity will make him have more difficulty moving, limit his comfort with activity and the basic mobility for life activities, will raise his body temperature, and just like with humans, will put him more at risk for health conditions that reduce his quality of life and length of life. Your dog may or may not be able to self regulate his food intake, so you may need to step in and regulate his food and activity to help him get the best out of life.
